"Shri Mukund Mahila Sadan"
Mathura
widely known as birth place of lord Krishna is located on the
western bank of river Yamuna at latitude 27degree 41 Minute N
and 77Degree and 41 Minuet E. It is 145 Km south-east of Delhi
and 58 Km North West of Agra in the State of Uttar Pradesh. The
administration of Mathura district is spread in 3329.40 sq. km.
There are 3 Tahsils, 10 Blocks, 827 villages, 89 Nagar Panchayat
and 479 Bram Sabhas in Mathura district. The population of
Mathura is 20, 74,516. For about 3000 Year it was the hub of
culture and civilization. Held in sanctity by the Buddhists,
Jain and Brahmanical faith alike, it has a long history.
15 Km. north of Mathura on the same bank of Yamuna, lays the
celebrated town of Vrindavan, almost as closely associated with
lord Krishna as Mathura itself. Indeed one hardly speak of
Vrindavan alone to; the devout Hindu.
In
Vrindavan, Swami Shri Haridas Ji (guru of Tansen, one of Great
Akbar’s 9 gems) realized God through the route of nad brahma
sadhna i.e. praying continuously in music, in the form of Shri
Bankey Bihari Ji. He started the tradition of and initiated his
disciples into Rasopasna Bhakti. He is also known as Adi Acharya
of Raas Leela tradition. The Great Akbar came to him and
listened Swami Ji’s divine music himself.
Mira Bai was a Rajput princess who lived in the north Indian
state of Rajasthan. She was a devout
follower of Lord Krishna. Mira Bai was one of the foremost
exponents of the Prema Bhakti (Divine Love) and an inspired
poetess. She also came to Vrindavan, to have Darshan of Swami
Shri Haridas Ji.
Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was a Hindu saint and social reformer in
eastern India (specifically present-day Bangladesh and states of
West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand
and
Orissa of India) in the 16th century, believed by followers of
Gaudiya Vaishnavism to be the full incarnation of Lord Krishna.
Sri Krishna Chaitanya was a notable proponent for the Vaishnava
school of Bhakti yoga (meaning loving devotion to
Krishna/God) based on the philosophy of the Bhagavata Maha
Purana and Bhagavad Gita. Specifically he worshipped the forms
of Radha and Krishna and popularised the chanting of the Hare
Krishna maha mantra and have composed Siksastakam in Sanskrit.
His line of followers, known as Gaudiya Vaishnavas, revere him
as an avatar of Krishna in the mood of Radharani who was
prophesised to appear in the later verses of the Bhagavata
Purana. Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu also came to Vrindavan with
his followers. Since then many of his followers come to
Vrindavan to perform divine bhakti towards Lord Krishna.
World Famous Shri Bankey Bihari Temple is also situated in
Vrindavan. Due to the current of Faith & Devotion Vrindavan has
developed as a town of Temples and Ashrams.
There are thousand of widows living in Vrindavan seeking
salvation and to devote them completely to Lord Krishna, and
most of them, over 90% come from Bengal and did not speak any
Hindi. Some of them live in government widow ashram, some of
them stay at private ashrams, some of them have rented a room
and some just sleep somewhere on the road or along the river
Yamuna. Over 95% of the widows living in Vrindavan make their
living from working at Bhajan Ashrams and begging. All of these
women go to Bhajan Ashrams in the day time and then beg in
evening and morning time when there are more pilgrims going to
the temples. In the past there was shelter for them in Temples
and Ashrams but the number of these helpless, poor women
increases continuously. Along with the change in time and
conditions, most of the Temples and Ashrams got commercialized
nowadays. And also due to the promotion in tourism most of the
Ashrams are transforming into guest houses which leads to the
residence, employment, safety, health etc problems for this
helpless women. At present there are more than 13,000 helpless
widows in Mathura District, who are forced to live a miserable
life.
In Vrindavan, after spending Crores of Rupees by the Orders of
Honorable Supreme Court of India, operated with the help of
Government grant, the maximum capacity of Mahila Sadan is 950.
Even after that thousands of old, poor, helpless, women and
widows wander in Vrindavan.
Keeping all these things in mind our trust took the decision of
building “Shri Mukund Mahila Sadan”.
Here these women will get these
